The Association had a meeting with POYC on Wednesday, 8th February 2017 to discuss the numerous complaints that were being received from coeliacs regarding GF food that they were not being allowed to purchase using vouchers.
During the meeting, it transpired that, in all probability, most of the problems encountered were due to the terms of the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that POYC has with the retail outlets participating in the scheme.
The Association has been advised that POYC was seeking legal advice regarding amending these SLAs so as to include all the ingredients which are today used worldwide to produce the majority of gluten free food.
Whilst the Association believes this is a very positive measure and endorses it wholeheartedly, it is also the Association’s opinion that it would be premature to be euphoric. Thus, the Association will wait until these changes are approved and implemented before commenting further.
